Cruise - Day 4 - 6 Sep 2010

A day at sea! Sleep in? A bit hard when you wake up at 5.40am and can't go back to sleep. So, I had a lie in, if not a sleep in. Arrived at the gym soon after it opened at 7am and discovered many other of my fellow passengers had the same idea but I was able to spend a very productive hour jumping & pumping.

We've got into a bit of a routine of gymfor me (sleep for Gary), shower, breakfast...and boy, is the breakfast spectacular? (Which is why I go to the gym!)

We spent the morning exploring the ship, including shops (very dangerous for Gaz), various decks, lounges, restaurants etc. It was the first day that Gary was really well enough to get out and about (he is fine now) so we set off to explore. Apparently there had been some sightings of whales so we kept watch but unfortunately we weren't able to let cry with “Thar she blows!”...maybe tomorrow...

Gary’s highlight of the day was going to Bingo (I chose to stay in the room and watch Sam Stosur win her fourth round match at the US Open – go Sam!). Although he didn't win, he is now the proud owner of a “Dobber” and vows to return as often as possible to win the jackpot...it takes all kinds, I guess.

Last night was our first “formal night” (champagne waterfall and all) so we dutifully dressed up to the nines and had quite a nice evening. We did go to a show where we were captivated (NOT) by some scottish dude who played the piano accordion very well...but that was the whole act. Unfortunately this was not enough to keep us awake and we kept nodding off which was a tad embarrassing to say the least. (Must have been that 5.40am start!)

Anyway, another day at sea and then it's Port Douglas bound!

Hi Penny & Gary

It was great that you were able to catch up with the Brisbane crew but it seems like you guys are having a far too good a time without us. Well done Gary on conquering your fears of the high seas. Amazing the difference the helping hand of a wee Irish maiden can make and no doubt much sympathy from Penny!! Looking forward to the next blog. Enjoy. Love Kevin & Gail

Because my last post didn't seem to go through, here it is again as a test.
Hi G & P,
Here's hoping for a Grand Final win. I'm sure that they have an incentive that they can give you a surprise and keep a medal for you when you get home. Perhaps inscripted "Nanna"??
Hey Gaz, check it out for us will you. Penny must have been in the under 6's 35 years ago when she was part of that Grand Final winning team at Moore park??
I think I can remember Jackie Love. If I'm not mistaken, she's the one that has legs from her ankles to her armpits.
Glad Gaz has settled down now and will be able to have a schooner while giving it to the pokeries.
Good to hear from you both.
Love Frank & Lee.
