What a crack up at breakfast this morning! Gary had one of his sneezing fits – he has them often, where he sneezes up to a dozen or more times – and the paranoid couple sitting at our table at the buffet restaurant surreptitiously picked up their plates and nervously sidled off to alternate seating, ensuring their continued health in the face of a possible pandemic in the guise of Gaz!
Everyone is very conscious of cross infection and there are sanitised wipes and dispensers of handwash etc everywhere. They even have few public toilets and encourage you to return to your cabin to use your own facilities whenever possible. I suppose it all makes sense – you do hear of nightmare cruises where the whole passenger list goes down with some bug or other (thanks Alex for sharing all these grim stories with me the day before I left!).
So another day at sea..it looks a bit like...this.
It was really nice to relax and just read a book on our balcony though Gary was a little more active and went to Bingo again (no luck but the jackpot is now $1900!), attended an art auction where the bids ranged from $100s to $1000s (luckily he sat on his hands as instructed by moi) and buy some more stuff from the ship's boutiques.
Had an early night as we have an early start to head into Port Douglas – oops just saw our transport in – I might take an avomine too!
More tomorrow.

Hi Penny & Garry,
Life must be a ball on board. Glad to hear from you and see some good pics. keep them coming. It ALMOST makes us feel that we're there with you all -(grumble, grumble).
I hope one of tour team mates post you the results of the Grand Final. When that happens or you just get on the net & find out make sure that we all know on one of your blogs.
Hey Gazza, hope you get to see Jacki Love (and her legs)!, take the boys with you and leave the girls at a boutique and you can relax and enjoy the show without being "watched" (sorry Penny).
Well there's not much doing here. Plenty on over at the church with web site designing and looking into new laptop & sound system along with either big plasma screens pull down screen for presentations or songs & services. I'm onto a freeware program to manage a database for all the text called "ZionWorx". Chad & Rachel use it up at Ballina. We're also into plans for the extensions to Holy Name so older members can have the toilets inside rather than climbing down & up the back steps.
I'm waiting for Friday Night Football (the real football - "The Greatest Game Of All").
Titans(4) V Warriors(5) Frid.
Tigers(3) V Roosters(6) Sat.
Panthers (2) V Raiders(7) Sat.
Dragone(1) V Beagles(8) Sun.
I know you'll be able to get onto the NRL "Live Scores" site, but I'll keep you "Posted" just in case you're all having too much fun.
Stay safe, take care and live the moment.
Love to you both as well as your fellow travellers.
Frank & Lee.
RE:Breakfast
I'm not surprised your co-diners moved - in recent days a swine flu outbreak in Qld has been well publicised!
Glad you are both enjoying yourselves...
Love, Wiz.
I hope Gary survived the Kuranda train experience. Looking forward to hearing tomorrow. I forgot to tell you this morning Penny - Ben is doing the Panthers/Raiders game and Shayne Hayne the Tigers.
Fingers crossed.
I have emailed James and Carly and asked them to put their thinking caps on and organise someone to video the g/final.
Continue to enjoy!
